Captain America: Being Steve is tough

True North [1/1], Captain America

Title: True North
Fandom: Captain America
Characters & Pairings: Peggy/Steve (kind of), Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers, Sharon Carter, Sam Wilson
Rating & Warnings: K+, spoilers for The Winter Soldier
Word Count: 2,300
Genre: Gen (I guess), Angst
Summary: He has a new mission, but he can't leave without saying goodbye.
Author's Notes: Again, spoilers all over the place in this fic. This fic takes place after the last scene (24 hours after to be exact). I do have plans to make this into a larger story, but, for now, it works as a standalone. As always, thanks for reading! <3

Over at AO3 (mostly because I'm too lazy to format it for LJ)
Captain America: Steve/Peggy

My review of Captain America: The Winter Soldier

As I said yesterday:

It was great. Steve was handsome, Natasha was awesome, Sam was charming, and the plot was solid (if a bit complicated -- which isn't a bad thing). I think K hit it on the head when she said it was a SHIELD movie with a heavy Captain America influence. And, of course, for those of you who have seen it, yes,[Spoiler (click to open)]my heart did shatter in a million pieces during the Steve and Peggy scene. He teared up guys. He called her his best girl. And even referenced their never-to-happen dance. WHY DID I EVER SHIP THESE CRAZY KIDS? ;_;

So now, I'm craving Peggy/Steve anything. AU, fix it, magical wizards -- I DON'T CARE. Just lay off the poor heart can only take so much.

I swear, my track record for 'ships I love has pretty much been horrible for the past year or so. I think I'll really just become Gen Girl and never ever have to worry about aaaaaaangsting over a couple again.

(I may, quite possibly, be overreacting.)

The End of the Year Writing Meme

Total Fics Posted: 22

Total Words Posted:  43,000

Total Words (of Anything Excluding Blogs) Written: Well, I've posted over 10k tweets this year. That has count as something, right?

My favorite story this year: It's a tie between The Struggle Within (Batman: Arkham Origins) and Best of Both Worlds (Halo, TNG -- which is still getting edited for its final posting)

My best story this year: Based on Kudos/Favs? Kiss and Make It Better (Halo)

Story most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Whispers of a Life Once Lived (Crysis). It's for a practically non-existent fandom, so it was pretty expected.

Sexiest Story: lolz, no.

Most fun story:  Best of Both Worlds...I sort of rushed through it and I like the version on more (I'm currently expanding on the end action scene), but I think I sort of nailed the aspect of the Halo/TNG crossover.

"Holy crap, that's *wrong*, even for you" story: Er, none?

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Zip.

Hardest story to write: Everything I didn't post this year. Writing has been a major, huge hurdle. I have come to accept the fact that I'm not a writer, I'm a person who likes to write. I can't have conversations with characters in my head and convince them to come out and play. So, instead of forcing myself to put words to the paper, I moved to crafting (lots of crafting). When the characters want to say something, they know where I'm at.

Biggest surprise: That I couldn't write? I have 20-30k words of random WIPs that went absolutely nowhere.

A story I want remembered: None in particular?

Resolutions for 2014: I really want to write this Tangled fic that has been in my head since Disney: Infinity was announced, finish something of substance in the Halo fandom, start the Zelda and Peach save the video game universe fic, and a few oneshots for good measure.
Spongebob: Plankton way to go

Fangirl states the obvious.

I haven't watched Almost Human yet. I've glanced through random clips until Babe is ready to sit down and watch the first two episodes with me. But, in watching those clips, I have come to realize something:

Karl Urban is pretty dang cute.

I know, obvious, right?

Well, my fangirl crushes are far and in between, so that's my excuse. :P

Now, for those of you who have watched it, how is it? (If you can answer without any spoilers, that would be fabulous.) I know one of the people behind Fringe is the creator, so that's got me interested.

And yes, so does seeing Karl Urban. XD XD
