The place that keeps on giving when it comes to The Avengers awesomeness...

To quote, "IT’S LIKE THAT ONE COMMERCIAL BUT IT’S NOT."

I give you, "Little Thor."

(I'm going to end up with an Avenger tag, aren't I?)

I am at that point when I fighting the impulse to stop moving forward in my story to go back to the beginning and start editing what I have.  So far, I have managed to ignore my inner editor.

I'm at about 7k with the Halo fic. Maybe more. I've got a notebook with random snippets that I've jotted down as the muse has led me.

I've got about 1k with the Push fic. (Ack, I'm so nervous about this one.)

Must keep writing.

:D
As if the Star Wars/Avengers comparison wasn't enough...

The Disney character/Avenger comparison.

I love fandom.

Reason #389 why the internet is better than the phone: Writing an email/PM/Tweet/anything is astronomically easier than leaving an awkward voicemail.

I'm pretty much sure I sounded like a babbling geek.

I did this last year, so it's high time for me to do it again. Because I was so prolific last year, I'm only including the fics that I wrote from April 2011-2012.

My list:

1. A Thousand Words (Captain America)
2. Taming the Rider (Tangled)
3. Road to Recovery (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare)
4. Under the Surface (Halo)
5. Would-be Savior (Alice in Wonderland)
6. A Most Precious Treasure (Tangled)
7. The Scent of a Woman (Jurassic Park)
8. First Name Basis (Iron Man)
9. Contemplating Mortality (Halo)
10. A Matter of Opinion (Frasier)

The Readers' List (most favorited):

1. A Thousand Words (Captain America)
2. Taming the Rider (Tangled)
3. A Most Precious Treasure (Tangled)
4. First Name Basis (Iron Man)
5. Under the Surface (Halo)
6. Smoldering (Prince of Persia)
7. Defying the Odds (Halo)
8. A Not So Formal Correspondence (Tangled)
9. Submerged (Prince of Persia)
10. Between the Lines (Tangled)

What surprised you most about your reader's top ten favorited stories?

That "A Thousand Words" has worked its way to the top--it is the story that has the least number of hits. Other than that, nothing too surprising.

If you could take any story off the reader's top ten list, which one would it be?

"A Not So Formal Correspondence". Ugh, it was like a sugar fluff bomb. So not my normal writing style.

Is there a common theme within your personal top ten? Your readers'?

With mine? From my point of view, those are the stories that I feel like I "got" the characters.

With theirs? They are a bunch of 'ship lovin' folk. All of them (except for Defying the Odds) are decidedly het.

Yes, I should be doing something else other than posting this, but this song will not get out of my head.

Parodies, I love them.

I knew that coming into this month, my life was going to be hectic. I just underestimated how busy life has become.  It's not that anything terrible has happened (well, minus the car accident), it's just that I have a lot on my plate.  And, over the past week, I have accepted that I don't have the time/energy to spend as much time online as I once did.

So, I am stepping down as "captain" of [info]scifibigbang and giving my co-captain full control.  I'm still going to be involved (I'm following her lead), but honestly, I don't have the ability to mod the comm the way it deserves.  Fortunately, she is an absolute rock star and I know the comm is in awesome hands.  (She has already done/is doing so much, I doubt anyone in the comm will notice the transition.)  It's sad because I remembering starting the comm years ago and not knowing what I was doing. ROFL Good times. Good times.

On a much more positive note, the artwork I made for Five Bullets has been posted.  The story been getting some love over at Smashwords which is always a wonderful thing! :D :D

Today was the first time I've been online (sans the business) in over a week.  I know there are birthdays I have missed. :(  So, happy belated birthday to [info]gelbes_gilatier and [info]grav_ity.  Both of you ladies are awesome and lovely!

I'm sure there is fic that I haven't read and there are about a million entries that I haven't read (and doubt I'll ever get a chance to read).  If something epic happened, drop me a line!

I did manage to watch the Fringe finale. (Meh, without spoilers, I'm perfectly content to let the series end there.) I have managed to stay away from Halo spoilers (Though I am not sure my resolve will last when they start releasing the official plotline in a couple of weeks).  And yeah...that's it. Not much in the fandom department. (OK, I lied.  The Avengers is still awesome! There, that's better, LOL)

You know what's the best part of all this Avenger flailing?

Just about everyone has their favorite Avenger on my f-list and there is no wrong answer. Because they are all just that awesome.

So, to reiterate what I said on my Twitter, "I came. I saw. I Avenged."

Do not expect coherency here.  I'm in full fangirl mode.

First, this movie, guh, this movie...there was so much pretty. The story, the characters, the special effects, the everything.

(Spoilers ahead.)

The thoughts of a fangirl... )
